Kindergarten Enrolment is OPEN

Beginning January 13th, families can submit a 2014-2015 kindergarten application in one of three ways: online http://schools.nyc.gov/ChoicesEnrollment/Elementary/Kindergarten
, over the phone by calling 718-935-2400, or in person at an Enrollment Office ( http://schools.nyc.gov/ChoicesEnrollment/NewStudents/enrollmentoffices/default.htm ). Admission is not first-come, first-served. All applications received by the February 14th deadline will be treated the same.

Families will no longer submit an application directly to schools. Feel free to share the attached FLYER about upcoming borough-wide information sessions.

APPLYING TO KINDERGARTEN FOR THE 2014-2015 SCHOOL YEAR

If your child was born in 2009, it’s time to start thinking about kindergarten for next year. You can apply to kindergarten from January 13th to February 14th, 2014.

You can find the Elementary School Directory online at www.nyc.gov/schools/kindergarten . The directory provides detailed information about the admissions process and will help you to explore elementary school options available for your child.

All families can apply for kindergarten in one of three ways:

• Online using Kindergarten Connect at www.nyc.gov/schools/kindergarten http://www.nyc.gov/schools/kindergarten

• Over the phone by calling 718-935-2400 (8am – 6pm, Mon – Fri) • In person at an Enrollment Office (8am – 3pm, Mon – Fri)

All families, including those of students with disabilities and those currently in Pre-K, should submit an application in order to receive kindergarten placement. Admission is not first-come, first-served. All applications received by the deadline are treated the same, according to schools’ admissions priorities.
